What to Expect Before Your First Pole Dance Class

Here's exactly what to expect when you join us for our Intro Pole Dance Class.

On the day of your first pole dance class

  1. No lotion. You will want to avoid putting any lotion on your hands or using any hand soaps with moisturizer, if possible. Doing either can increase your hand's sweatiness which makes the pole slicker (more on this later).

  2. Dress comfortably and bring water. In our Intro Class we won't be climbing or inverting so there is no special apparel that you need to wear. Your instructor will more than likely be wearing a t-shirt or tank top and shorts or leggings. We are a shoe-less studio so socks are welcome but it's generally easier to dance barefoot. We recommend bringing a water bottle as well.

  3. Parking. There is both on-street paid parking and a parking lot just down the street for you to choose from.

At the studio

  1. Arrival time. Our instructors arrive 10ish minutes before the class time. We have all the yoga mats needed and they'll set everything up for you! Please be on time so you hear the short chat at the beginning.

  2. When you walk in the door. We have a shoe rack right next to the door that holds everyone's shoes. Once your shoes are off, we have an area in the back with shelves to hold the rest of your belongings.

  3. After you put all your things down. Before you make your way to the mat we have a stack of waivers on the coffee table with some pens. Once you sign the waiver, bring it to the instructor and grab the mat of your choice.

Bring your water bottle with you to the mat so you can drink it whenever you want and we have a restroom for any of those needs. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible so you can have as much fun as possible.
